December 27  from Jim Finnegan's daughter:  My dad asked that I send you a note to let you know he had a mishap on Monday morning. As my dad was leaving for the railroad museum, he slipped and fell on ice at the end of his driveway. He hit the back of his head on the concrete and was rushed to Sutter Roseville hospital. He suffered traumatic brain injury and the doctors are watching a couple contusions but are hopeful that the body will heal these small bleeds. He remains in Trama Neuro Intensive Care at Sutter Roseville and he is in good spirits. There doesn't appear to be any other damage at this point. His speech, motor skills and thought process seem to be okay. With the exception of a headache and some dizziness, he asked we let you know that he will be out of commission for a while. Further tests will in the next day or two will tell more.  My mom, Elaine asked to "warm up the prayer beads" and we ask that you keep dad in your prayers. In thanks and prayer, Janet Smith

December 27 from John Freschi:  My nephew Gary Freschi has been severely injured in an accident and is in critical condition in John Muir Hospital in Walnut Creek. I am going to see him tomorrow and I am not sure I will be back for the officers meeting. The news on him today is not good, so would you please ask for prayers for him. His injuries are facial and brain damage.

December 21 from Billy Casino: I would like to request our Brother Knights to please pray for all the victims of the massive flooding in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan Cities in Southern Philippines. Latest casualty estimate was 1,050 people and hundreds are still missing.

December 14 from Zula Murphy:  Zula's husband, Brother Knight Robert passed away August 21.  They had moved here a year ago.  She provided the following: He became a Knight at 19 years old and farmed in Illinois until he received the G.I. bill and graduated from college.  He started a business in the bay area and built specialized black boxes for fighter planes that could track incoming attacks.  He has four living children and one here in Lincoln.  Please pray for the repose of Robert's sole and for his wife Zula.

December 13 from Jim & Peggy Horan:  Jim will have another foot surgery this Friday at Sutter.  Please pray for his foot to heal properly.  Also, Pat Flannigan will be having foot surgery this Thursday at Kaiser.  Please pray for a success of this procedure.

November 21 from Don Budde:  Please pray for my daughter, Penny Cortez.  A lump in her breast was found.  We do not know the extent as yet, but the doctor was not optimistic.

October 10 from Herb Pickell:  Thank you for your prayers and blessings.  My Mom, Katherine Pickell left us last Friday in her sleep at the age of 95. She is now at peace reaching her lifelong journey to be with the Lord our God.  Services:

September 11:  Brother Bob Brennan passed away yesterday, please pray for the repose of his soul.  Your prayers for Anna and Bob's family are welcomed. The Rosary for Bob Brennan will be On October 7 at 7pm at St. Joseph Church. The Mass will be at 12 noon at St. Joseph Church. Reception at the parish hall will follow the Mass and is hosted by the Lazarus Society.

August 27th from Bob Brennan:  All prior info is declared false and untrue. Anna and I spent the last several weeks trying to come to grips with the viciousness of the new cancer which has caused a massive tumor on my neck and face. If you felt ignored it was because the decision was overwhelming to us. We’ve had such happy years together facing the end to that was traumatic. Finally we rejected all of the proposed cancer treatment and joined a Hospice which works in partnership with Kaiser Palliative Care. The medical and personal support they provide is impressive.  I expect to die in my own house, in my own bed, in the arms of my lover and surrounded by family. I’ve had a very gratifying life, shared my bed with two of the most wonderful women ever made, with their constant support and encouragement we have managed to raise as fine a family as anyone can imagine. I am totally at peace with God and anxious to arrive in Heaven, possibly as soon as just a couple of weeks. I may be dopey by that time so I’ll say a loving goodbye to all now. My Love to All -- and the post of “Leader of the Clan” needs a new candidate. GOOD BY FRIEND

August 23rd from Linda Austin:  On August 23 Ken Austin underwent extensive back surgery at Sutter Roseville Hospital.  There has been a bit of a complication that will necessitate his being flat on his back longer than originally anticipated. Your prayers for relief of his pain and a speedy recovery are needed.

August 25th from Vic Albertazzi:  PGK Joe Donati passed away peacefully, after a long illness, on August 21, 2011. His wife Maureen was evacuated because of the fire and just returned home to notify us that there will be a private funeral for family. The Rosary, open to all, will be on September 8, 2011 at 7:00 pm.  Please mark your calendar and make every effort to attend that Rosary to show our loyalty and solidarity.  Joe has been a staunch supporter of the Knights both spiritually and physically for many years…………I remember the many meals he prepared after each of our business meetings from the time I arrived in 2002 (and how many before that?!) until a couple of years ago when he had to give it up because of his disabling illness.

August 21st:  Brother Joe Donati passed away peasefully today.  Please pray for the repose of his soul.  Arrangements are pending.

August 19th from Richard Scozzari:  A friend of mine named Linda Kelleher has been diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time and now has the cancer in her spine.  Please pray for Linda to keep strong and be at peace with the Lord.

August 17th from Bill Dotson: Today at 10 am I will go into the Hospital for major surgery lasting until maybe 7 or 8 pm. A tumor on the left front part of my brain will be removed. I have known that there was some sort of problem for awhile, the Drs. Were just not able to pin point it. (The brain made other parts of my body react). The Dr to do the surgery is a well known (out of town)surgeon, and he predicts that the operation will be successful and recovery will begin immediately. I will be in isolation for some time. He advises I will be able to do our Fall Festival dinner October 1, 2011, (with help from our team of course). Many of you have been aware of my illness and visited or supported me. I thank you and look forward to be back in business soon. My brothers, pray for me and my family. Bill Dodson, Past Grand Knight, Past Faithful Navigator & Former DD

August 15th from Roger Siddall's wife:  Roger passed out on stage on one of his performances with the Lincoln Hills Singers sometime in May and was taken to the hospital. He recovered nicely from that, then had a knee replacement in June.  It became infected and he has been on antibiotics delivered through a PICC line at home.  He seems to be doing well now but will see the doctor this week and get a report.  Please pray for his quick and complete recovery.

August 14th from Pat Gonzales:  Please inform all the brothers that Joe Donati is at Sutter Roseville room 152 he has had a stroke and can no longer carry himself his son tells me he wishes to die ! please pray for him and if you can visit him he can not talk very well. I pray that some of you can find the time to visit a fellow brother in need.

August 12th from Richard Scozzari:  My mother in law, Loreli's STEP mother, passed this past Tues. Her name is Nita Zamora.  Can you put out a prayer request for MY Father in Law, Carlos Zamora, who is lost without her and having a hard time of it. I would appreciate it if you can send a prayer request to our Brother Knights for condolence prayers of faith for my Father in Law, Carlos Zamora.  I know that Nita is at peace with our Lord and God and though we are saddened by her loss, I am particularly concerned for our "Papa Carlos".

August 4th from Anna Brennan:  My husband, Bob, has developed a primary cancer, salivary gland cancer.  It will be treated with radiation, our first appointment is tomorrow.  Please pray for him and would you ask that he be put on any other prayer lines you know of.

Please pray for the repose of the souls of Brothers Terry Waite and Bert Davis.  Terry's funeral is July 28 and Bert is the 29th.

July 20 from Bob Brennan:  Saw the cancer doc yesterday.  He briefly examined the tumor on my neck, claimed he had not noticed it previously.  Got a referral to a surgeon who will biopsy the thing to see if (1) it is a reappearance of the original lymphoma that he treated last winter/spring or (2) a result of the non-aggressive lymphoma that he is currently treating with oral chemo. I think there is good evidence that it is the original nasty type.   If so, there is not much more he can do for me except try radiation which often has good results for lymphoma, So I'll be hearing from the surgeon shortly to set up the biopsy and hearing from the radiation team to decide on a plan of attack.    If we go ahead with radiation, I'll discontinue the oral chemo. Sounds like my hopes to finish this stuff and start planning some cruise/Bahama vacations are going to be put on "hold" for the indefinite future.  And I'd better focus on planting bulbs which are guaranteed to bloom in 6-8 months rather than dwarf fruit trees which won't have a crop for 5 years. My horizons are getting closer so I'd best enjoy each day!  Thank God, I have Anna's loving support.  She has been working her arse off taking care of me and the strain is getting to her.   Regards,    Bob B

July 15 from Vic:  Brother Bert Davis, after a long illness, died on July 15.  Funeral Mass will be Friday July 29

July 3 from Joe Barone:  Joe's wife Assunta is on dialysis 4 times a week.  Prayers from the Knights will be very much appreciated.

July 2 from Joe Ratto:  Joe is diabetic and has been fighting poor circulation for 4 years.  On Nov. 18 his toes were removed from his foot.  He developed MRSA which slowed healing and on June 14 he lost his foot.  He is currently at Sienna Care Center in Auburn and can be reached at 650-576-7263.  In 3 to 4 months he hopes to have a prosthesis and then to walk again.  Prayers from the Knights will be very much appreciated.

June 30 from the Knights:  Prayers are needed for both Terry & Catherine Waite.  As some of you know, Catherine is in the hospital with kidney stone problems.  She has been there several days.  Their daughter, Carrie Ann, is staying with Terry.  She could use some help.  If you could give her an hour or two break that would be great.  A good time would be around 1PM daily.  If this would work for you, give Carrie Ann a call at 434-1036 (the Waite house.)  Make sure to call first as she may have a house full of help already.

May 26 from the Knights:  Our prayers are needed for Brother Terry Waite, who has been on chemotherapy treatments and now has an added critical burden fighting pneumonia.  Please keep Terry and his family in your prayers as he battles his illness.

May 12 from Ted Dickard:  Inspired by the results of the prayers you gave to Gene Scallon, and the similarity of our conditions I am asking for you to pray for me in my fight with a similar cancer.

April 28 from Father Eric:  I was just informed, by Saundra Clark, that her husband had passed away around 4am this morning. Tom recently received his third degree and is fairly new to the parish. Please let our brother Knights know about Tom's passing to pray for him and his family.

April 25 from Ron Smit:  Please pray for Tom Clark who is in the hospital and not doing well.  He is suffering from Metastasized Melanoma.

April 20 from Don Budde:  I need to request your prayers for my granddaughter Jennifer and her husband Frank to bear the sorrow in not having success in implanting the embryo and for the embryo.  They will need your prayers as they were very expectant of being parents.  I was advised on April 16, but did not get to email until today.  Pray that they open their hearts to adoption.

April 11 from Don Budde:   I ask your prayers for the successful growth of my great grandchild within the womb of my granddaughter.  She and her husband have gone to great lengths to conceive in the past 5 years.  Only one embryo is implanted and that was done last Thursday in New York.  Whether you agree or disagree on procedure, there is a life that need you prayers, now.   Thank you.

April 4 from Pat Gonzales:  Joe Donati is not doing well and is now in Lincoln Manor.  He would welcome your prayers.

April 3 from Becky Bloemhard:  Bob is not able to attend mass due to a back problem and would appreciate your prayers

March 28 from Pat Flannigan:  Would you please put out a “Thank You” to my Brother Knights for all the thoughts, prayers and Masses said for my successful surgery and recovery. The pneumonia and sepsis infection are cleared. The rehab will continue and soon I will be back in action. May God bless all of you!

March 10 from Pat Flannigan:  I am doing better today.  They finally have started rehabbing my leg.  Seems I gave them some other stuff to worry about for awhile.  Looks like I will be here for a few more days.  Looking forward to getting out and working my knee.  Thanks for all the prayers.

March 9 from Marisue Flannigan:  Pat is doing better today.  Many thanks to Fr. Eric for his quick response yesterday and to all the Brothers for the prayers.  He is at Roseville Kaiser in room 2118B

March 9 for Pat Flannigan:  From Father Eric: I went and anointed Pat around 4pm yesterday afternoon. There appears to be a set-back to his recovery that could be serious. Apparently he has an infection, which has led to a high fever and possible pneumonia. That is what was happening yesterday, I pray that Pat 's condition has changed for the better. In the mean time, please continue to ask the Brother Knights and their families to continue praying for him, Thank you.
From Ken Austin:  Pat Flannigan had knee replacement surgery on Monday; following surgery, he developed a rapid heart rate and contracted pneumonia. He's being closely monitored 24/7

March 8 from Don Budde:   Please pray for the soul of my Aunt Ursy Pisciotto who passed away Friday, March 4, 2011.  Also for the remaining member of the family, Aunt Irmy.  Both were residents of Palo Alto.  Ursy now joins her husband Joe Pisciotto.  Funeral is on Saturday, March 12 in Los Altos CA. at 3PM.

March 2 from Ed Korphage:  Please pass on a prayer request for my wife Terry, who will be going in for radical mastectomy within the next two weeks, followed by cancer treatments.

March 2 from Pat Flannigan:  Knee surgery will be next Monday.  Your prayers will be appreciated.

March 2 from Knights meeting "rendering thanks":  Ray Calmes noted his son's progress and Gene Scallon mentioned his successful "thus far" treatment.  They both thanked all for the prayers.

Feb 7 from Ray & Dianne Calmes:  Thanks to everyone. Dennis has had countless responses and is more than grateful for everyone. This whole experience has really awakened his belief in, and the power of of the solidarity of man and God. He had 18"¯ of his colon removed last Wed. Thur. morn he was walking around the hospital floor, and today he will be coming home The doctors believe they got it all, but will start another round of chemo in a few weeks as a preventative measure. Again thanks for the prayers, and they will be coming back to all of you.

Feb 1 from Ray Calmes:  Please add Dennis to prayer list especially for Wed 2/2. He is having colon surgery tomorrow to hopefully get his last cancer. There is a mass for him on wed.

Jan 11 from Catherine Waite:  It's been a tense 10 days with doctor appointments and tests, but this morning I again placed Terry under Mary's mantle of protection, and tonight there's good news....  Although the cancer is running rampant throughout his body and his kidneys are shutting down, Terry's a fighter and his doctor is not ready to throw in the towel.  Terry'll be starting a new chemo regimen to slow the cancer down, and will probably go into dialysis sometime soon.   This may not sound like good news, but we walked into the doctor's office thoroughly expecting to be told there wasn't anything more that could be done - this gives us a little wiggle room here at the end.  So we're grateful for today, for the many blessings we've received, and for your prayers - thank you - and please keep praying for us as we pray for all of you.

Jan 11 from Peggy Horan: Jim will have his gall bladder removed today.  Please keep him in your prayers.
Jan 10 from Peggy Horan:  Jim has been taken to the hospital.  He is at Sutter Roseville room 286 and will be there for several more days.  He has his cell phone (216-5169) by his side.  Please keep Jim in your prayers.
Jan 10 from Joe Sena:  Please post prayers for our daughter Valerie who has been diagnosed with secondary bone cancer. She is being treated with hormones and radiation. With the grace of God and our prayers she will come through this.

Jan 9 From Brother Vic:  Brothers,  Please pray for the repose of the soul of Connie Martin, daughter of Vic and Mary Albertazzi.  Connie was diagnosed with cancer of the intestine 2 years ago.  For the past year she has had a lot of pain but during the last 2 weeks the pain was excruciating and unbearable in spite of huge doses of narcotics.  So the prayers of many of you have recently been for peace and comfort in her last days. At 4:30pm on January 8, 2011, Connie died peacefully and comfortably in the hospital where intravenous medication finally controlled her pain.  The whole family was present and able to say goodbye to her.  So please pray a prayer of thanksgiving for her peaceful death and also that the Purgatory she obviously went through here will get her a straight shot to Heaven.

Jan 4 from Pat Flannigan:  Thank You for including me on the “Prayer List” for my knee replacement surgery that was to be performed yesterday, January 3rd.  The surgeon had to cancel my surgery because of a cut on my right leg approximately 2” from where he was to make the incision on my shin. He told me the wound should heal in about 2 weeks and the surgery would be rescheduled. The surgery scheduler is trying to get me back on around February1st.

Thank you to all the brothers who prayed for me. Please don’t rescind the prayers. I need all I can get. Also, I have just developed a bad cold so he probably couldn’t have performed the surgery anyway. My wife, Marisue is also sick with a cold.  I hope all this goes away soon and we can get back to some state of normalcy

Jan 2 for Gene Scallon:  Gene has been on hormone therapy for 2 months and begins radiation tomorrow Jan 3.  Please pray for Gene in his battle with cancer.
Dec 31 From Al Martig:  Please pass on a prayer request for a close friend of mine, Edward Krigbaum, who will be going in for cancer treatments in the coming weeks.  It was in remission for less than a year and has now come back.
Dec 11 from Vic:  Pat Flannigan is scheduled for knee replacement surgery on Jan 3rd.  He has requested that we pray for the success of his surgery and rehab.
Dec 7 from Bob Brennan:
Please start up the prayer wheel again.   Just learned that one of the little thingies on my face was lymphoma.   My chemo doc has been informed and the pace of medical stuff may accelerate shortly.   Won't know anything more for a few days.  I'm convinced that the prayers of so many people was a major factor in my doing so well so far.   So let’s start the machinery again.

Dec 3 from Vic:  Here is a follow-up to your prayers in response to the request from Brother Ray and Dianne Calmes for the success of the surgery on their son Dennis on Monday, 11/29/10.  The purpose of the operation was to see of the spread of cancer to the liver from the primary in the colon could be controlled with surgery.  At operation, there was no evidence of spread to any part except the liver; so the right lobe (70%) of the liver was removed; BIG OPERATION!  And he is recovering nicely with no evidence of infection or other complications. Ray and Diane consider this a miracle, as do I, and want to thank you for all the prayers.  And Dennis is thankful for all the prayers and the love filling him up.  But we need to keep praying because the next step, after recovery from this operation, is to operate to remove the primary cancer in the colon.  When his strength is back, he will start a new round of chemo and then have about 18 in. of his colon removed. If you would like more details and/or if you want to be inspired, at your leisure, click: More

November 18 from Richard Scozzari:  Greg Harlow is now recuperating at his home after a bad neck and upper back sprain.  He had been taken to hospital after getting hurt in high school wrestling and we were unsure what to expect.  We are all grateful for your prayers.  Gregory feels he will be back on the mats after a few weeks of recuperation; he is at school and continuing his studies.

November 16 from Richard Scozzari:  My son has a friend whose mom had a stoke last night while on a breathing apparatus at her home and is not doing very well.  Please pray for Brenda Trask and her family.

November 12 from Richard Scozzari:  St. Joseph the Carpenter Squires Circle 5197 Chief Squire Gregory Harlow was injured today at high school wrestling practice.  He was taken to hospital by ambulance and may have hurt his neck badly.  I have no details and it is too soon to check with the Harlow family but I am sure prayers will help Greg immensely.  Please pray to the Lord our God is watch over this young man and his family.

November 7:  Gene Scallon starts hormone therapy this week followed by radiation.  Please keep Gene in your prayers as he fights his cancer

November 6: from Manny Cabcungan:  Please convey to our brothers that bother Knight Miguel Funtanilla's two older sisters passed away: Maria Funtanilla Manuel, 88, of the Philippines, passed away last week.  Her late husband was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Philippines.  Basilia Funtanillla Lazo, 82, of Union City, California passed away this morning after a long illness. Your prayers for the repose of their souls and for the bereaved members of their families will be greatly appreciated.
